Choosing a functional and affordable scoreboard for your high school gym:

  Multisport scoreboards

  Basic game information (Time, Scores and Period) are shown on all multi-sport scoreboards, enabling the most popular high school sports (basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, soccer) to be played. In schools where basketball is played competitively, added features such as team fouls may be required, in which case the model 5241 would be a great choice. Larger facilities that want to show all the player stats could also consider the model 5220. Often, a larger scoreboard with added features would be placed prominently in the main part of the gym, with a smaller, secondary basic score board at the opposite end displaying time, scores and period only. With a two board set up, scoreboards can be run independently for two cross court games running simultaneously, or synchronized to display the same information, when a tournament is being played on the main court.

  Tabletop Scoreboards

  Tabletop models such as our model 9200 are an economical timing and scoring solution for intramural play. Requiring no installation, they can be set up in minutes and later locked away securely when the game is over. With an optional carrying bag, they can be easily taken along for ‘away’ games. Tabletop scoreboards are also a great backup resource in case the main scoreboard goes down during a big game.

  Wireless Data Communication

  Think about adding the flexibility of a “wireless” option. That way, the ISC 9000 scoreboard controller can be used anywhere in the facility without actually being connected to the scoreboard. Note that a power source is still required for the controller, unless you choose a model that is not only wireless, but battery powered.

  Protective Screens

  Our scoreboards are designed to withstand the impact of an occasional errant ball. Still, always try to mount your scoreboard out of the line of fire if possible. If not, consider purchasing an optional protective mesh screen (link to page) to keep your scoreboard safe from damage..
