An LED multisport scoreboard delivers the essential game information common to most sports: Game Time, Home and Guest Scores and Period ( Quarter, Half, etc). Some may also provide a possession indicator. Multi sport scoreboards are usually designed as either Indoor Scoreboards or Outdoor Scoreboards. An indoor multi sport score board displays game time, home and guest scores and period. It may also have possession indicators, and possibly bonus indicators (for basketball). Electronic multi-sport indoor scoreboards are most often used for basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, wrestling and badminton. Outdoor Multi-Sport scoreboards (a.k.a. Multipurpose scoreboards) also have game time, guest and home scores, period, as well as a possession indicator. Outdoor multipurpose scoreboards are mainly used for football, soccer, rugby, baseball, softball, ultimate frisbee, and track and field. Some outdoor models in this category, if used primarily for one sport in particular, will have other game specific information. For example, a multipurpose scoreboard used extensively for football may have ‘Downs’ as well.
